MCNAG Branding & Website

Marine Conservation for Norfolk Action Group

Creating a strong identity and online presence for a grassroots conservation group

MCNAG brings together conservationists working to protect the marine environment off the Norfolk coast, especially along the protected chalk reef. They approached me needing both a visual identity and a website that could grow with them — somewhere to publish updates, promote their conference, and explain their work.

I wanted the brand to reflect the sea without being too literal about it. So I designed a simple wave graphic that's immediately recognisable but has a rougher, cut-from-paper quality. On websites, this wave graphic is responsive so it always fills the available space with a gentle, curving wave. The colour palette runs from indigo through blue to green, so that sub-groups like the Beach Cleaners Collective can sit in a different part of the same gradient and feel distinct while still clearly belong to the same family.

The website was built in Next.js with Sanity as the CMS, giving the group full control over their own content without needing to come back to me for every update.
